Hey there Pre-Dental students and soon to be dentists!
The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine's Chapter of ASDA is happy to announce our inaugural Pre-Dental Academy that we have been planning for some time. It is a combination of an introduction to dentistry at UPenn Dental Medicine as well as a think tank to help better prepare yourself for your applications and better yourself as an applicant.
Instead of a rigorous and a constant stressful 8-hour day trying to fit in some fun lectures, talks, networking with dental students, hands-on lab activities, and personal development skills, we want to offer a full weekend designed to help YOU! From Friday evening, July 21 until Sunday afternoon, July 23, we have many things planned from social activities and lab demonstrations to AADSAS application and interview prep so that you can learn from us and get to know our school. We know this will be a fun weekend and you will learn a lot about Penn Dental Medicine and its students as well as be better prepared for your applications to dental school!

Itinerary is as follows with an official one emailed closer to the event (subject to change ):
- Friday:
- Arrive at UPenn Dental Medicine 7pm-8:30pm for a meet and greet with students
- Saturday:
- 7am-8am: Registration and Breakfast
- 8am-9am: Welcome remarks, talks by Admissions Office
- 9am-12pm: Student-led lectures on dental anatomy, cariology, and oral pathology
- 12pm-1:30pm: Lunch with students and tour through school
- 1:30pm-5pm: Simulation Lab exercises: Impression taking, model pouring, anatomy cast marking, bleaching trays, cariology exercises including filling composite teeth, and using our one-of-a-kind virtual reality Three-Dimensional MOOG Simodont Haptic Feedback Drilling Units
- 7pm: Optional Philadelphia Phillies Game
- Sunday:
- 8am-9am: Breakfast
- 9am-12pm: Breakout Sessions and speakers involving Interview, DAT, and AADSAS prep
- 12pm-1pm: Lunch
- 1pm-2:30pm: Closing Remarks and Q&A Panel

Includes: Sheraton University City Hotel for Two both nights (2), Breakfast and Lunch provided Saturday and Sunday, All supplies. Philadelphia Phillies Game ticket optional. If you are bringing someone with you and wish to be in the same room with them, please email and let us know! Otherwise, you will be paired up with another student of the same sex.
*You are more than welcome to look for a hotel on your own. You do not have to stay at the hotel that we are offering, but we just wanted to offer an easy option to all students that are coming from far away*
